Description
Margaret Bateson is the head of a newly created unit in the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development dealing with the Social Sustainability of the Common Agricultural Policy. This covers issues of social inclusion, rural development measures, young farmers, animal welfare and health, plant health and plant protection productions as well as food labelling. We also cover the POSEI schemes for the outermost regions of the EU. As well as this, Margaret is the Equality Coordinator for DG AGRI.
Margaret’s career in DG AGRI commenced in 1993 in the audit sector until 2018 when she moved to deal with rural development and later with sustainability.
