Virtual Planning Workshop for Enhanced Participation in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)
A Virtual Planning Workshop for Enhanced Participation in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) will be held on 17 and 18 October 2022 (from 14:30-17:30 PM – UTC+7 time). The Workshop is organised by the Ministry of Education and Sports, Lao PDR, in association with the ASEAN Secretariat and with the support of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The purpose of the workshop is to improve the awareness and capacity of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam (CLMV countries) to participate in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and to prepare for full transitioning to computer-based assessment. The workshop is also an opportunity for all ASEAN Member States and their Partners to learn more about PISA, in particular PISA 2025, and for the experienced ASEAN-PISA participants to share their experiences of PISA with Lao PDR and Myanmar. This workshop is designed to support the implementation of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Work Plan IV (2021-2025), which aims to provide additional support to CLMV countries to meet their ASEAN-wide targets and commitments towards realising the goals of the ASEAN Community. Participants in the workshop will include representatives of the ministries of education and national assessment units and centres from the CLMV countries as well as representatives of ASEAN Member States already participating in PISA together with representatives of relevant international and regional organisations. The workshop will be facilitated by representatives of the OECD and its international contractor, the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).
