Mel Untersteiner serves as the Secretariat to the J5 and Chair of the J5’s Operational Advisory Group (OAG). With over 14 years of experience at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Mel has held various roles, primarily focusing on governance, reporting, and stakeholder relations. Currently, as a Director in the Transnational Crime Program (TCP), Mel coordinates transnational tax crime relationships and oversees strategic planning and communications for the department. As Chair of the OAG, Mel is dedicated to driving transnational collaboration, delivering high-quality results, and building capability to support Chief decision-making on strategic matters. Additionally, Mel guides TCP’s broader transnational tax crime engagements, supporting effective collaboration and engagement.
