Description

Diana Cottrell is a UK qualified Barrister and Prosecutor for the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service. She has 17 years post qualification experience in a full range of criminal proceedings. Between 2012 and 2020, Diana worked in the CPS’s Proceeds of Crime Division alongside investigators from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs as an Asset Recovery Specialist recovering criminal proceeds from complex tax frauds and organised crime. Diana is experienced in financial investigation, asset tracing, freezing, seizing and confiscation in complex and international cases. Her work with HM Revenue and Customs has been recognised in the UK with national awards including the 2013 National Crime Agency Keith Hughes Award as Prosecutor of the Year in the field of financial investigation. She has post-graduate certificate in Tax Law, a postgraduate diploma in Economic Regulation and a masters’ degree in International Criminal Justice. Diana is currently employed by the International Division of the Crown Prosecution Service as a Liaison Prosecutor where she specialises in international cooperation, mutual legal assistance and extradition.
