Participant Presentations
One of the many ways participants grow from this training experience, is to hear from their fellow colleagues. Therefore, we request volunteers who will deliver a short presentation on a case that they are familiar with, and the successes and failures of the management of that financial investigation leading to the case presented in court in conjunction with the corresponding predicate offense(s). We are less interested in receiving a presentation on the laws of your country, except to the extent the laws promoted or inhibited the work of your investigation or the prosecution at trial. We are more interested in you sharing the facts of the case, and your experiences pertaining to what worked well and what could have been improved upon in the management and successful outcome. The presenters should expect to take no more than 10 minutes in presenting their case and allow for approximately 15-20 minutes of questions and discussion. There is no requirement for you to prepare anything special, although many in the past have provided a short slide presentation to assist in walking us through the case. Please do not share anything that would violate your laws. We welcome anyone who wishes to present to the class to notify us as soon as possible, by writing to the Course Leader (Douglas Sloan, DASloan@outlook.com) with africa-taxacademy@oecd.org in Cc.
