Description
Hanan Salam is a researcher, professor and entrepreneur. Her interests/passions include Artificial Intelligence, robotics, affective and cognitive computing, Human-Computer interaction, psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience and education. She believes in the power of education and how it can change the world. Hanan co-founded Women in AI, an international organisation whose mission is to increase female representation and participation in the field of AI, and is currently leading the organisation.
Till December 2020, Hanan was an Associate Professor in AI at Emlyon Business School, Lyon. She is currently an Assistant Professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. She holds a PhD in Human Computer Interaction from Supelec, a Master of Control, Robotics, Signal and Image Processing from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes, and an Engineering degree in Computer Science and Telecommunication (Lebanon). Her research activities and interests span the areas of Human-Robot Interaction, automatic understanding of human behaviour, social signal processing and affective computing.
