Description
Andrés Barreneche joined the OECD’s Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) as an Economist and Policy Analyst in 2014. He works on the diffusion of artificial intelligence in firms, examining enabling conditions, obstacles, and how public policies can help. Andrés also manages the EC/OECD STIP Compass portal, a hub for data-driven policy analysis and advice in the STI field. Before joining the OECD, his main research topics included national innovation systems and the role of intangible investments in business innovation. He holds a BSc from the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia) in Industrial Engineering, an MA from Ritsumeikan University (Japan) in Economics and a PhD from the University of Paris-Sud (France) in Management Science.
