Description
The OECD conducted a survey into the perspectives of medical associations regarding the integration of AI tools. The survey aimed to contribute to the discussion on AI from the healthcare providers’ perspective whose roles are critical to health systems. This investigation was facilitated through a comprehensive questionnaire distributed by the World Medical Association (WMA) on behalf of the OECD. Key findings from the report are that 72% of the medical associations surveyed believe that the benefits of AI in healthcare outweigh the risks. Medical associations strongly believe that AI will significantly transform the field of medicine, but they also agree (70%) that the role of physicians will remain central. Health providers are not concerneds about AI replacing their jobs; however, they are concerned about AI being developed and implemented without them.
