Paddy Carter is director of research and policy at CDC Group, the British development finance institution. Before joining CDC, Paddy specialised in research on development finance at the think tanks CGD and ODI. Paddy has a PhD in development economics from Bristol University, where he was also a British Academy post-doctoral fellow. His research has been published in journals such as World Development, the Journal of International Economics and the European Economic Review. Before returning to university to study economics, Paddy spent a d ecade as a financial journalist then equities analyst in the City of London.
