Description

Daniel Haar is Chief of the Appellate Section of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to becoming Chief, he held positions as acting Chief of the Competition Policy & Advocacy Section, Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General, and Trial Attorney in the Appellate as well as Telecommunications & Media sections. As Chief of the Appellate Section, Mr. Haar has overseen a wide range of appeals, including in United States v. American Airlines, National Association of Realtors v. United States, and United States v. Sabre Corp.; supervised the filing of many amicus briefs, including in Chase Manufacturing v. Johns Manville Corp., State of New York v. Meta Platforms, and Epic Games v. Apple Inc.; and contributed to the legal theories in numerous trials. Mr. Haar clerked for the Hon. Douglas H. Ginsburg of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He earned his B.A. in philosophy from Albion College, his M.S. in applied economics from the University of Minnesota, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
