Description
Ken Boyce has decades of leadership experience in safety engineering across many sectors. He is a Corporate Fellow in the William Henry Merrill Society at UL LLC, reserved for the highest level of technical achievement, external recognition, and contributions to UL’s Safety Mission. He also serves as Senior Director, Principal Engineering: Industrial, overseeing global technical operations and standards development for Energy & Industrial Automation, Built Environment and Engineered Materials. This includes renewable energy, batteries & energy storage systems, advanced grid technology, electric vehicle & e-mobility systems, fire suppression, building materials, polymers, wire & cable and a wide range of related equipment and systems. Ken is active in the international standards community and works closely with the U.S. National Laboratories and academia to advance scientific knowledge through research. He serves as the Chairman of UL’s Energy Council, is former Vice Chairman of the Consumer Council, chairs the Solar Energy Industries Association Codes & Standards Working Group and is a Board member for several scientific initiatives. Ken is a frequent speaker and lecturer on safety, risk management, technology and energy at global symposia, government events and universities.
