Description
Yvonne Stein has over 25 years of professional experience in consumer protection policy and enforcement, including eight years as principal officer at the Consumer Ombudsman Secretariat of the Swedish Consumer Agency. As a Swedish national expert, she was for three years Coordinator for legal and juridical questions related to the Enlargement Process in the field of Health and Consumer Protection at the European Commission. Mrs Stein was also a Senior Legal Expert at the European Union project on Capacity Building in the Area of Consumer Protection in Croatia for two years. When Mrs Stein was appointed Mayor for her home community for two mandate periods, she took a break from legal work. For the last six years she has been working as a senior civil servant at the Government Offices of Sweden.
Mrs Stein is Sweden’s delegate to the OECD Committee on Consumer Policy and joint Vice-Chair of the OECD Working Party on Consumer Product Safety. Mrs Stein also participates in the UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy.
