Martine Hansen was born on 10 December 1965 in Wiltz. Education and qualifications After graduating from the Lycée classique in Diekirch, Martine Hansen went on to study Agricultural Sciences at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim, where she obtained a degree in agricultural engineering, specialising in Agricultural Economics and Social sciences. Martine Hansen completed her academic career with a master's degree in school management from the University of Kaiserslautern. Professional activities Martine Hansen worked as a teacher-engineer at the Lycée technique agricole d'Ettelbruck from 1993 to 2006, and was head of the school from 2006 to 2013. Governmental posts From April to December 2013, Martine Hansen was Minister for Higher Education and Research in the Juncker-Asselborn II government. Following the legislative elections of 8 October 2023, Martine Hansen was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture and Minister for Consumer Protection on 17 November 2023 in the coalition government formed by the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) and the Democratic Party (DP). Other political posts Martine Hansen joined the Parliament on 5 December 2013 and was re-elected in the legislative elections on 14 October 2018. In December 2018, she became the first female president of the CSV group. She shared this presidency with Gilles Roth from 2021 until she joined the government.
