Description

Mathilde Mesnard is Deputy Director of the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs of the OECD, covering policy areas such as financial markets, international investment, corporate governance, competition and anticorruption. Prior to this, she was the coordinator of the New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC) Initiative, where she promoted new approaches, outlined research directions for in-house analytical improvements and led a seminar series. From 2009 to 2013, she was Senior Advisor to the OECD Secretary-General, supporting the preparation of the Ministerial Council Meetings, the relationship with key partners, and the Accession Process and following up issues related to financial and enterprise affairs, governance and gender equality. She also launched and coordinated the CleanGovBiz Project on integrity. From 2001 to 2009, she worked in the Corporate Affairs Division of DAFE, where she led a number of projects on corporate governance in South-East Europe, the Russian Federation, Asia and China, and developed the OECD Guidelines on corporate governance of SOEs. Ms. Mesnard had previously held positions as management consultant with Deloitte & Touche, Assistant Professor in Economics, and Financial Analyst at Citibank. Ms. Mesnard holds a degree in Philosophy, a Master’s Degree in Finance from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP), an MBA from Drexel University, and a PhD in Economics from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
