Description
Jelena Macura, a dual Croatian/Canadian national, joined Cefic in July 2019 as Head of Sustainable Finance where she manages the Sustainable Finance Issue Team composed of over 130 members. Jelena was also a Permanent Representative in the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance where she was also present in the Technical Working Group.
Jelena has been following the EU sustainable finance topic since the March 2018 Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth and focuses on the EU Taxonomy, non-financial reporting, and corporate sustainability due diligence.
Prior to joining Cefic, Jelena worked in the Government Relations team at ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical focusing on integrated advocacy for various upstream and downstream issues. As well, she worked in the Executive Office of the Southern Alberta Office of the Premier covering a range of provincial energy and finance topics and has collaborated with the Alberta Energy Regulator.
Jelena holds an MA in International Relations with a specialization in EU External Relations from the Brussels School of International Studies and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Alberta. She is currently working towards a Certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies at Stanford University.
