Description
Raul Delgado is a Climate Change Lead Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) where he participates on the planning and execution of the Climate Change Division's agenda, he is leading the work on NDCs, long-term climate strategies and fiscal policy for climate. He is also part of the Technical Secretariat of the Regional Climate Change Platform of Ministries of Economy and Finance, supporting these ministries to mainstream climate change into their policies.
An Economist, he has significant expertise in public policy, structuring of development projects and multilateral financing working for over 18 years in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico. During that time held different positions and led the institutional strategy and the coordination of lending and technical assistance activities with international financial institutions. During that time (2007-2011 and 2015-2017) he was also Mexico’s Focal Point and Council Member for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Board Member of the Green Climate Fund, as well as focal point for the Climate Investment Funds. Between 2011-2014 he held the position of Senior Advisor of Mexico´s Executive Director at the IDB.
