Description

Professor Deborah Corrigan is a Professor in the Faculty of Education, Monash University, Australia. She has been the Deputy Dean of the Faculty and more recently Director of an innovative thinktank " Education Futures" at Monash University. Professor Corrigan has been active international researcher in the field of teacher education and science education, particularly in terms of the relationship between teaching and learning and the evidence base of professional practice. She has been involved in the development of professional standards locally, nationally and internationally. Professor Corrigan has been involved with science curriculum development locally , nationally and internationally in the development of science content and performance standards. She has also published textbooks for Chemistry and Science teachers including the use of learning technologies in science classrooms. She has worked extensively with experienced and beginning teachers globally in the areas of professional development, curriculum development and links with vocational education in science curriculum. Professor Corrigan was a secondary school teacher for 10 years prior to her university career and has served on a number of School Councils and Education Government Boards.
