Miguel Escassi
Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy
Présentation
Miguel is the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy
of Google in Spain. He is an executive specialized in digital
transformation in Europe and the Americas. He has more
than 15 years of international experience in digital
transformation, strategic management, and leadership in
both corporate and public sectors. He is passionate about
how public-private collaboration and technology can build a
more sustainable and inclusive world.
In the public sector, Miguel has been Digital Transformation
advisor to the Vice President of the Government of Spain,
Nadia Calviño, during the period of definition of the Spain
Digital Agenda 2025. In addition, Miguel was Secretary of
Digital Agenda of the Government of Chile during the
second term of President Michelle Bachelet, where he
promoted international reference programs such as Startup
Chile, Industrias 4.0, the new Telecommunications and Data
Protection Laws, or the Charter of Digital Rights. On the
other hand, Miguel was elected President of the Council of
Spanish Residents (C.R.E.) of New York during the period
2011-2014.
On the corporate side, he was a partner at the Oliver
Wyman Consulting New York office, where he specialized
on digital and telecom markets in US, LatAm and Europe;
and he led Everis Consulting public sector practice in Chile.
Later on, Miguel connected more dots, bringing together two
things he is passionate about to co-found Yoomers, a
startup that offers gastronomic, collaborative experiences.
He has a strong interest for sustainability and diversity,
collaborating in different initiatives around international
development, digital inclusion, and empowering girls and
women with technology.
Miguel has been keynote speaker at several Digital
Economy international conferences, and published several
papers focusing on the impact of the digital revolution for
economic development. He holds a Master of Engineering
in Telecommunication Engineering from University of
Seville, and a Master of Management from Cornell
University.
