Description

Amit Ashkenazi is the Head of the Legal Department at the National Cyber Directorate ,in charge of domestic and international legal policy and operations. The legal department at the INCD provides legal advice to all internal operations, including cyber defense operations and regulation. The legal department is in charge of developing legal frameworks to support the INCD mission, including new cyber legislation. Before joining the INCD Amit was the Head of the Legal Department in the Israel Privacy Protection Authority, where he lead drafting of new privacy laws and regulations and represented Israel in the EU Adequacy Process. Amit teaches a graduate course on law and technology at the Haifa University Center for law and technology, and at the Tel Aviv University International Program on Cyber Politics and Government. In 2019 Amit represented the Government of Israel in the drafting of the OECD Recommendations on AI.
