Description
Dr. Ariel (Eli) Levite is a nonresident senior fellow in nuclear and cyber Policy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Immediately prior to joining the Carnegie in 2008, Levite was the Principal Deputy Director General (policy) at the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission (2002-2007). And previously served as Deputy National Security Adviser (Defense Policy) and earlier in an Assistant Secretary Position as Head of the Bureau of International Security and Arms Control in the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
Between 2000 and 2002, Levite spent a sabbatical as a visiting fellow at CISAC, Stanford University.
Prior to his government service, Levite worked as a senior researcher and project head at the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies.
He has been awarded the Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur as well as
the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award at Tufts University’s IGL.
Levite holds a Ph.D. in government from Cornell University. He has published extensively books and articles.
