Description
Bradley Eddison leads policy development for the Protecting Democracy Unit at the Privy Council Office, where he is responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing government-wide measures designed to combat disinformation and safeguard Canada's democratic institutions. This has included contributing to the design of the Plan to Protect Canada's democracy, which the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity described as showing that "Canada has taken up the reins as a global leader in fighting election interference." He also led efforts by Canada, in partnership with Microsoft and the Alliance for Securing Democracy, to strengthen collective capacity to prevent malign interference by foreign actors aimed at undermining electoral processes through the Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace.
Prior to joining the Privy Council Office, he has worked in both the public and private sectors in the areas of resource development and public administration, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and outreach, especially with marginalized groups. This has included working with First Nations communities on power line development, and with Canadians with disabilities on the development of Elections Canada’s first Accessibility Policy, which aims to identify, prevent and remove barriers to voting.
Bradley has studied political science at Queen's University and media, culture and communication at New York University, and has lived across North America as well as in Beijing, China.
