Biography
After receiving a degree in Economics from Ewha Womans University in South Korea, Jongsoog Kim moved to the United States and earned a Ph.D. in Family Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. From 2002, she worked at the Korean Women's Development Institute, holding positions such as Presidential Secretary for Gender Equality and Family and the President of the Korean Women Economists Association. She was also involved as a member of various committees, including the Minimum Wage Commission of Republic of Korea, the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy, the Economic and Social Development Commission, and the National Labor Relations Commission. In January 2024, she was appointed as the President of the Korean Women's Development Institute.
