President

Description

David Meyer was elected President of the Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) in November 2024 and his term starts in January 2025. The role of GRECO’s President includes chairing meetings and representing the organisation externally. He has been Head of the United Kingdom Delegation to GRECO for over a decade (since 2014), and an elected member of GRECO’s Bureau since 2016. During this time he has participated in all parts of GRECO’s work, including serving as an evaluator, rapporteur, and participating in high level missions in respect of non-compliance, as well as overseeing the UK’s implementation of GRECO’s recommendations. He was part of the working groups that developed both GRECO’s fifth and sixth evaluation rounds. A career UK civil servant, David currently leads the Ministry of Justice’s work on international engagement, rule of law and overseas territories. Prior to this he has held a number of roles across international policy, criminal justice and constitutional policy.
