The language of this session is Portuguese. It is also possible to take questions in English and French. This session will feature a panel with representatives of oversight bodies (regulatory agencies, Supreme Audit Institution, Agency for the Prevention of Corruption), audited entities and academia, presenting and debating views on the role of oversight bodies as both guardians and pillars of integrity in public governance during COVID-19. This context involves high risks of mismanagement mainly resulting from the mitigation of legal and procedural requirements, and demands for an effective and systematic assessment during the emergency situation and in its aftermath. • What are the stakeholders’ expectations? • What can oversight bodies do? • Does COVID-19 imply a permanent change in the role of oversight bodies? These questions and doubts, and many more, will be addressed in this session.
