REPLAY: Anticorruption collective actions: A game changer
Description
This session was organised by Global Compact Network Brazil, Knowledge Partner of the virtual 2021 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum - please scroll down for the recording.
Collective actions aim to build open markets in which all companies can compete freely, fairly and with integrity, through the joint efforts of businesses, government and civil society. In the last decade the Global Compact has lead anticorruption collective actions efforts through its Local Networks. This session invites experts from Brazil, Colombia, India and Kenya to instigate a profitable debate on how anticorruption collective actions can be used to fight the pandemic. We have learned from previous crisis that they exponentially enhance corruption risks. The participants will provide concrete examples of collective actions in course, especially the ones that are closely related to COVID-19 affected sectors. It will build momentum and inspire potential partners and countries to develop joint anticorruption collective actions. The audience will be able to interact with the participants to understand how to set, implement and partner to develop anticorruption collective actions to fight the pandemic.
Objectives:
1) Given the participants expertise with anti-corruption collective actions, discuss the concrete examples of Brazil, India, Colombia and Kenia using anticorruption collective actions to combat corruption in the face of the pandemic
2) Raise awareness of civil society groups of anti-corruption collective actions
3) Build momentum and partnerships to develop anti-corruption collective actions that address Covid-19 corruption challenges
