2021 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum

Mar 25th | 10:00 am CET - 11:00 am CET

REPLAY: Promote accountability and integrity, relinquish corruption

This session is organised by the National Taxpayers' Association, Kenya, Knowledge Partner of the virtual 2021 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum - please scroll down for the replay. A key driver of tax morale is the accountability of funds entrusted to Governments by taxpayers. Through this forum, NTA seeks to bring together stakeholders from the revenue authorities, supreme audit institutions, and parliamentary oversight committees in an attempt to curb this vice, corruption. During the session, NTA will share the analyzed OCOB report for FY 2019/20 and engage in conversations with all relevant stakeholders on 25th March 2021. We understand that domestic revenues continue to decline and countries' revenue forecasts, going into 2021, are not promising. This means that any tax measures on the corporate and household level will have a significant effect on households and businesses. NTA recognizes the need for a concerted effort to oversight over budget implementation, and end-year audit of budgets, and follow up on audit recommendations, coupled with heavy sanctions for corruption, which holds great promise for domestic resource mobilization for developing countries. List of speakers: 1). Sheila Masinde – Executive Director Transparency International Kenya (TI-Kenya) (smasinde@tikenya.org) 2). CPA Dr. Margaret N.
