REPLAY: IT Innovation: Oversight in pandemic times

Description

This session is organised by the Office of the Comptroller General of Chile, Knowledge Partner of the virtual 2021 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum - please scroll down for the recording. Supreme Audit Institutions have played a significant role in controlling public expenditure during the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing assurance on the compliance of government expenditure with the applicable laws, regulations, and rules, and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of public policies. It is in this new context that SAIs have accelerated the implementation of IT tools, creating a unique opportunity to innovate. The webinar will include presentations from the SAIs of Chile, Finland, and the United Arab Emirates on how the deployment of information technologies in audit work has contributed to face the challenges of a pandemic world. We expect to analyze the key factors that led to success in the implementation of IT for auditing and to provide insights on how SAIs can boost their impact and improve oversight and anti-corruption efforts in the post-pandemic world. We expect active participation from the audience by interacting with the panelists. Moderator: Ms Valentina Monasterio, Chairwoman of the United Nations Board of Auditors Speakers: Mr Jorge Bermúdez, Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile Ms Tytti Yli-Viikari, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Finland H.
