Biography
Ines is the EITI’s Policy Director, overseeing the development, revisions and implementation of the EITI Standard and developing guidance material for practitioners. Ines leads the policy team that spearheads the EITI’s work on beneficial ownership disclosure, state-owned enterprises and commodity trading transparency. She has experience with the EITI's work in Anglo- and Lusophone Africa, having led EITI implementation support to Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Seychelles, São Tomé and Príncipe, Tanzania and Zambia. She supports the Implementation Committee of the EITI Board, which oversees policy and implementation developments and progress in the EITI implementing countries. She is also a member of the Secretariat’s senior management team. Ines has previously worked for Amnesty International (Norway), the UN Research Institute for Social Development (Geneva), the Permanent Mission of Portugal to the United Nations (New York) and the Business Council for International Understanding (New York).
