Biography
Álvaro is current the Head of the Division of Institutional Integrity Supervision at the Integrity and Transparency Unit of the Mexican Institute of Social Security. Previously, he has been parliamentary adviser at the State Congress of Jalisco, Mexico; consultant for international development projects, and anti-corruption advocacy volunteer in some local civil society organizations in Mexico, such as the Permanent Observatory of the State Anti-Corruption System of Jalisco, Mexico. Álvaro holds a Master of Arts with distinction in Corruption and Governance awarded by the Centre for the Study of Corruption at the University of Sussex. His dissertation researched the risks of corruption in subnational public procurement during electoral years in Mexico.
