Biography
Pierre Moscovici is the First President of the French Court of Accounts (Cour des comptes) since 3 June 2020.
M. Moscovici holds postgraduate degrees in advanced macroeconomics and philosophy, and is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris. He joined the Cour as an auditor after graduating from the École nationale d’administration (ENA) in 1984.
He was a Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 1997, and from 2004 to 2007, during which time he was Vice-President of the European Parliament. He was elected Member of the French National Assembly in 1997, 2007 and 2012.
He was appointed Minister of the Economy and Finance in 2012 and served as European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs from 2014 to 2019.
Pierre Moscovici is an affiliated professor at Sciences Po Paris and a visiting professor at Columbia University in the City of New York and at the College of Europe in Bruges.
