Biography

Margarita Thomaidou serves in the Hellenic National Transparency Authority as the Head of the Sector for Economy and Development of the Inspections and Audits Unit, with main responsibility to plan, coordinate and supervise the execution of audit work in the fields of economy, development, tourism, agricultural development and state assets management, including state owned enterprises, as well as the review of assets of public employees. From 2005 to 2019, she served in the Inspectors-Controllers Body for Public Administration (I.C.B.P.A.), initially as an Inspector-Controller, from 2006 as a Head Inspector and from 2012 as the Deputy Head of I.C.B.P.A. Prior to the above, she served in the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Economy and the Body of Pubic Administration Controllers. She is a graduate of the Law School of Athens and she holds a Diploma of Advanced European Legal Studies of the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, which she attended with a scholarship granted by the Ministry of National Economy. She is also an honor graduate of the National School of Public Administration. She is fluent in English and has a very good knowledge of French.
