Dr. Abaalkhail received his B.A. degree in Economics from King Saud University in 1999 and his M.A. in Economics from Washington State University in 2003. In 2007, he received his Ph.D. in Economics from Kansas State University. Dr. Abaalkhail started his career at the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) (formerly known as the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency) as an Economic Researcher in 1999. During Abaalkhail's studies in the USA, he interned at the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. in 2007, and worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics at Washington State University, Pullman in 2003. Dr. Abaalkhailserved as a Deputy Director General for Training Affairs at the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). Joining the IPA in 2003, he was assigned to several administrative and supervisory positions, such as Director of Research, Director of Financial and Economic Programs, and in addition, chaired a number of advisory, scientific and development committees. He was then promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. On August 19, 2016, by a Royal Order, Dr. Abaalkhail was appointed as the Vice President of Nazaha.
