Description
Mark Robinson is Executive Director of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which brings together governments, companies, and civil society organisations in national multi-stakeholder platforms to promote governance reforms in the energy and mining sectors. Mark is responsible for leading the organisation, managing the International Secretariat, fundraising and financial management, and oversight of implementation in EITI’s 57 member countries. He also serves as Secretary to the EITI International Board, comprising the Chair and twenty members from government, industry and civil society.
Since assuming the role in 2018, Mark developed a strategic framework for the EITI grounded in the energy transition, anti-corruption and revenue mobilisation, supervised the production of the 2023 EITI Standard, and promoted a sustained growth in country and company membership. His current priorities for the EITI focus on embedding data-driven approaches into country reporting and a greater focus on outcomes and impact.
Mark has over 30 years' experience in governance, extractives, climate and international development, and a career spanning the worlds of policy, operations, research and philanthropy. Prior to joining EITI, Mark served as Global Director for Governance at the World Resources Institute in Washington D.C.
