Description
Organised by: Social & Labor Convergence Program and International Trade Centre
The rise of human rights due diligence legislation will increase demand for credible and harmonized social and labor data in textile supply chains. Where there is a patchwork of regulatory demands, there is also a scenario where suppliers are expected to conduct more social assessments or audits. These audits are often duplicative, and shift focus from improvement programs for workers, particularly in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). ITC and SLCP are taking stock of the existing efforts by SLCP to reduce audit fatigue now that the initiative has gone to scale. This session aims to highlight the impacts of these efforts and understand how these learnings can be levered in the context of HRDD implementation, namely CSDDD.
