Do women earn less than men at all garment factories? If so, why – or why not? In this session, ARI will share the results of piloting its new gender pay gap methodology with garment factories in Turkey, Bangladesh, and Thailand. The findings and actions to address gender pay gaps will then be discussed by representatives from Primark (global clothing brand), the Global Fashion Agenda (NGO), Öz İplik İş (trade union in Türkiye), Naripokkho (women’s rights organization in Bangladesh), and VT Garments (garment factory in Thailand).
