Ineke holds an M.A. in human geography and women’s studies, and is one of the original founders of the Clean Clothes Campaign, which has grown over the past 30 years into a global network of over 200 trade unions, civil society, women’s and activists organisations. Staying faithful to its activist roots, the CCC today is organized in grassroots regional networks with over 70 members in Asia. Ineke is presently acting as Coordinator it the International Office of the CCC in Amsterdam, she leads the lobby and advocay work, focusing on corporate accountability, safety and living wages. She was one of the key architects of the Bangladesh Accord, on whose board she serves as witness signatory, and worked intensively on the campaigns for the victims of the Rana Plaza Building collapse, the Tazreen and the Baldia fire, and negotiated agreements that collectively delivered over 30 million dollar to the victims. She sits on the advisory board of the Business and Human Rights Resource Center, and is board member of the Fair, Green and Global Alliance.
