Description

Tonje Drevland is head of the team in the Norwegian Consumer Authority (NCA) supervising green claims in marketing. In 2022, the NCA opened a case against two retailers marketing green claims in Norway based in the Higg MSI (see more info here), as well as against the Sustainable Apparel Coalition as owner of the Higg MSI. Based on these cases, the NCA, together with the Dutch consumer authority, issued a guidance on environmental claims to the textile industry. Besides green claims, Drevland also leads the NCA’s work on use of sanctions, and the supervision of the consumer markets on electricity, financial services, and transportation.
