Elena Militello
South Working, Italy
President
Description
Elena Militello is President of South Working, a not-for-profit association which aims to improve cohesion and bridge the current economic, social, and territorial gap affecting Southern Italy and Italian inner areas.
The project studies the phenomenon of remote working and its pros and cons; assists workers who want to work from a location that differs from that of their employers; and formulate policy proposals in this field. The long-term goal is to stimulate the economy of the Southern regions of Italy, to increase territorial cohesion between the various regions and the broader continent, and to create a fertile ground for innovations and growth in the South.
Ms Militello returned to Sicily from Luxembourg, where she is currently a researcher in criminal procedure at the University of Messina. Her postdoctoral research focuses on issues related to criminal justice. She holds a Combined Bachelor and Master Degree in Law from Bocconi University in Milan and a Ph.D. in Law and Humanities from the University of Insubria in Como. She is passionate about linguistics, restorative justice and sustainability.
