Description
FRANCESCA COLOMBO, M.Sc., is Head of the Health Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. In this capacity, she leads OECD work on health, which aims at providing internationally comparable data on health and health systems and applying economic analysis to health policies, advising policy makers, stakeholders and citizens on how to respond to demands for more and better health care and make health systems more resilient and people centred. Major activities under her responsibility cover solutions to make health systems more resilient and value for money, including health workforce and the financial sustainability of health systems; measuring of health systems outcomes, activities and inputs, including the OECD Patient Reported Indicators Survey initiative and trends in health spending; healthcare quality policies; megatrends, including long-term care systems and ageing, climate change and health, and digital health and Artificial Intelligence; the economics of public health; and pharmaceutical policies and medical supply chains (http://www.oecd.org/health). Ms Colombo serves as a member of the Lancet Pandemic Readiness, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Commission on COVID-19, the World Health Summit Council, the French government’s Commission des comptes de la santé, and was co-chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Health and Healthcare, and other international advisory boards. Ms Colombo has over 25 years of experience leading international activities on health and health systems. Over her career, she travelled extensively in Europe, South America and Asia, advising governments on health system policies and reforms.
