Description

Doctor in Science, in the specialty Physique Quantique from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), supervised by Prof. Jean-Michel Raimond, in the research group at Ecole Normale Supérieure led by Prof. Serge Haroche (Physics Nobel Laureate, 2012). Joined the faculty at the Physics Institute, Universidade de São Paulo (IFUSP), in 1996, where he became Full Professor in 2011. Founded a quantum optics and quantum information laboratory at IFUSP, which he leads jointly with Prof. Marcelo Martinelli. Among his main scientific contributions, are the generation and characterization of quantum entanglement among bright beams of light and their potential applications in quantum information science.
