Quantum Policy Lead
Description
As a Quantum Policy Lead in the UK Department for Science Innovation and Technology, Diego is responsible for developing the UK’s approach towards quantum regulation, standards, and multilateral engagement. He is also the lead for the UK’s National Quantum Networking Mission, designing a programme of work to promote the development of the quantum internet. Prior to this role, Diego was a Senior Policy Adviser at the Regulatory Horizons Council, where he advised the UK Government on regulatory reform to encourage the rapid and safe development of neurotechnology in the UK. Diego has also worked on science policy at the UK Government Office for Science and on IoT and telecoms policy at the GSMA, the international association of the telecommunications industry. Diego holds an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge, with a scholarship from the Fundación Rafael del Pino, and a BSc in Physics and Philosophy from King's College London.
