Description
Alberto Barachini is Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with responsibility for information and publishing, appointed by the Council of Ministers in November 2022.
Mr. Barachini was elected Senator in 2018 and he was nominated Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for the General Guidance and Supervision of Media Public Services from August 2018 until September 2022. He was also a member of the 8th Parliamentary Standing Commission (Public Works, Communication). He was re-elected Senator in the XIX legislature, starting in 2022. He is now member of the 7th Parliamentary Standing Commission (Culture, Cultural Heritage, Public Education).
Mr Barachini has worked as a presenter and journalist covering national and international politics, reporting from Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Iceland, Iraq, the United States, Tunisia and Spain. In 2002 he received the "Indro Montanelli" journalism award. In recent years, he has given lectures on television journalism at IULM, LUMSA, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and NABA.
He holds a degree in Modern Literature from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pisa.
