Description

António Leitão Amaro was born on April 2, 1980 in Tondela. He earned his PhD in Law from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School as well as a degree in Law from the University of Lisbon School of Law. He teaches Public Finance at the University of Lisbon School of Law and at Católica Global School of Law. He has been a Marshall Memorial Fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a Scholar at The Europaeum, and a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School. He has also practiced law at Cuatrecasas. He has served as Secretary of State for Local Administration in the XIX Constitutional Government and has been a Member of Parliament during the XI, XII, and XIII Legislatures. His leadership roles included serving as Vice-President of PSD’s Parliamentary Group and as Secretary-General of PSD’s Youth (JSD). He is President of Tondela's Municipal Assembly (his mandate in this role is currently suspended). He is Vice-President of the PSD.
