Biography

Jacob Asher was born on July 2, 1965, in Ramat Gan, Israel. He studied in the "Mishkan Yaakov" and "Grodna" yeshivas and completed advanced Torah education. He served in the IDF as a private in the second phase. Asher held several public roles, including Deputy Mayor of Elad, Director of the Education Department in Bnei Brak, and Mayor of Bnei Brak. He was first elected to the Knesset in 2013 and served in various committees, including the Economics, Education, and Child Rights Committees. Asher has been a leader in advocating for consumer rights and solutions for the Haredi housing crisis. He is married with seven children and resides in Bnei Brak.
