Biographie
Actuary and Mathematician from UNAM, with a thesis on poverty economies in the indigenous community of Tenejapa, Chiapas. Holds a master's degree in Economic Development from the University of Cambridge, England, and a doctorate in Employment Economics from Columbia University, with the thesis "Discrimination in Labor Markets Through the Informal Economy."
As the main negotiator of the FTA in the financial services chapter (1999), she became the first female vice president of the CNBV. She also served as Associate Director of the global regulatory body, the Bank for International Settlements, in Basel, Switzerland (1999–2002).
