Biography

Marietta KARAMANLI has been Member of Parliament for Sarthe since 2007 and was re-elected in 2024 in the early legislative elections. She is a member of the French National Assembly's Law Commission and European Affairs Commission, and chairs the Council of Europe's External Relations Subcommittee. As a member of the French National Assembly's European Affairs Committee, she is involved in numerous projects on security, immigration and terrorism. At local level, she is currently a municipal and community councillor for Le Mans Métropole. Born in Greece, has lived in France since 1984. She holds a master's degree in classics and a post-graduate diploma (DEA) in the history of law, economics and society, as well as a doctorate in political science from the University of Nancy II.
