Biography
Olivier Maroy has been a member of the Parliament of Walonia as well as the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation since June 2014. He chairs the Committee on Energy, Housing, and Climate. Elected from the Brabant Wallon constituency, he has also served as president of the municipal council of Orp-Jauche since 2018.
As a journalist, he was one of the pioneers of "free" radio stations in the early 1980s before joining RTBF. As a specialist in Belgian politics, he extensively covered political, social, and economic news on both radio and television. For 11 years (2003-2014), he hosted the debate television program Mise au Point.
He later decided to enter politics and joined the Reformist Movement (Mouvement Réformateur, MR).
