Presentation

Ms. Geraldine Ang works as a policy analyst on green investment at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which she joined in 2011. She works jointly for the Environment Directorate and the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, with a focus on clean energy investment. She has authored several OECD reports, including the new report on Overcoming Barriers to International Investment in Clean Energy. This report discusses the rise of hidden protectionism in solar PV and wind energy since the financial crisis, especially through local-content requirements. It also assesses the impacts of such requirements on international investment in clean energy, in a context of global value chains. Geraldine also contributed to the OECD Policy Guidance for Investment in Clean Energy Infrastructure and co-authored the report Mobilising Private Investment in Sustainable Transport. Prior to joining the OECD, she conducted research on the economics of climate change mitigation for the Earth Institute. Geraldine holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (2011), and a Master of Science in Management from HEC Paris (2006).
