SMEs have a critical role to play in the just transition to a carbon-neutral economy both as employers and as innovators contributing to the ecological transition; however, they continue to face considerable funding gaps preventing them from greening their own operations or from scaling up green products and services. This session will highlight innovative approaches taken by different SMEs, subnational governments, and finance institutions to bridge these funding gaps and enhance the availability of green financing products for SMEs. The objective is to generate meaningful dialogue and actionable policy
advice on how to leveraging public and private investment to finance innovative and fast growing SMEs to accelerate the ecological transition in regions and cities.
