Svend Særkjær
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Interior and Health
Svend Særkjær has had an esteemed career in public service, primarily with the Danish Ministry of Health. He was employed at the Ministry of Health in 2002 and appointed Permanent Secretary in 2021.
In between various positions in the Ministry of Health, Svend has also served as CEO in two of the five Danish regions working to create coherent and high-quality healthcare systems.
Svend holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
On top of this, he has taken part in the Leadership Development Program at Harvard, Kennedy School of Government, focusing on Senior Managers in Government.
